Violet Pink Botryoidal Chalcedony + Bumblebee Jasper Freeform

Rare Collector’s Specimen • Botryoidal Formation • One of a Kind

This piece is pure geological magic. 💜🐝✨ A truly unusual Bumblebee Jasper freeform covered in dreamy violet-pink botryoidal chalcedony, creating a beautiful contrast between soft pastel mineral formations and flashes of fiery orange, golden yellow and earthy charcoal gray.

The front has been left wonderfully natural, revealing an entire landscape of grape-like botryoidal formations in shades of pale violet, dusty pink, soft gray-lavender, cream and warm honey. Small crystalline pockets and irregular formations give the surface incredible dimension and sparkle. Along the edges, vivid orange and pink mineral banding creates a striking transition into the smooth, dark gray polished matrix on the reverse.

The combination of a polished backside and raw mineral face makes this piece especially fun to explore—you can turn it over to appreciate two completely different expressions of the same stone.

“Bumblebee Jasper” is actually a trade name rather than a true jasper. Material from the Bumble Bee Stone locality in West Java, Indonesia is carbonate-rich and predominantly calcite; its famous yellow and orange colors are associated with arsenic-sulfide minerals including realgar and pararealgar.

The word botryoidal refers to rounded mineral formations that resemble clusters of grapes—exactly the incredible bubbly texture covering this specimen. Interestingly, botryoidal structures are also documented within Bumble Bee Stone itself.

Because the unusual violet-pink material in these newer pieces is not as thoroughly documented in published mineralogical sources, we recommend describing it as “sold to us as Violet Pink Botryoidal Chalcedony with Bumblebee Jasper.” This keeps the listing transparent while still celebrating just how rare and visually extraordinary this material is.
